When choosing a sign for our company or institution, it is worth considering the following questions about custom sign production: Is the sign for exterior or interior use? What durability do I need? and What is the price range I am considering?
We can achieve the right effect with the appropriate use of materials. For example, we get a gold effect on a sign by covering a PVC board with gold adhesive film; or we can use brushed gold Dibond. The ultimate choice of materials depends on our clients’ needs and the desired effect.
Materials we use in sign creation are:
PVC board is a sturdy solution. We lay it with printed adhesive film and/or tailor cut plexi (acrylic), Dibond, foam board lettering.
Dibond is a very durable and relatively light composite material made of thin layers of aluminum and a central layer of polyethylene. Dibond board can be coated with adhesive film and glued with plexi letters or Dibond.
Dibond comes in various colors and has its snazzy varieties inclusing brushed silver and gold, which makes it an elegant option both inside and out.
Plexi (acrylic) board is a subtle and attractive material that is well-used to sign exteriors and interiors. It has a glossy surface that be glued with plexi or Dibond letters.
We also create lighted LED plexi signs for indoor use.
We are all familiar with the warmth and traditional feel that wooden elements bring to any design scheme.
We often combine these materials to achieve the desired effect. The results can be impressive:
– plexi letters on plexi sheet, mounted to a Dibond board laid with adhesive film
– Dibond board laid with adhesive film and foam board lettering (photo above)
– 3D sign from foam board and Dibond.
Often a small elegant signplate is sufficient. In addition to the above-named materials, we cut and engrave signplates from engraving laminates.
We choose sign materials to match the needs of our client company or institution and the effect that they wish to achieve.
